Home Again Los Angeles (HALA)

About This Project

The adaptive reuse of the City of Burbank-owned property reimagines a long-vacant site as the headquarters for Home Again Los Angeles (HALA). HALA is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering families experiencing homelessness and guiding them toward independence through permanent housing and stable employment.

Originally designed as Fire Station #3, the renovation of this mid-century building introduces administrative offices, case management spaces, a job center, donation room, conference room, kitchen, and new restrooms to support HALA’s daily operations and services.

Along with general site improvements, four new Studio Homes will be constructed on-site as transitional housing for HALA families. Proposed as a modular construction project, each will include a living space and restroom. Additional residential amenities include a shared porch, common area seating with a shade structure, on-site laundry facilities, secure bicycle storage, and a community room.
