The famous Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, a venue for both performance and assembly, underwent extensive restoration and renovation, with the aim of returning the theatre to its former glory and prestige to once again fulfill an important civic function in the city. The historic building includes a French Baroque auditorium, opulent marble lobby, a gold gilt ceiling, a fine neon marquee and the last originally installed theater organ in the city. The carefully researched and renovated spaces in this renowned venue now host an array of theatrical productions, concerts, film festivals, award shows, and numerous community events.
Renovation work comprised the upgrade of theatrical, mechanical, and electrical systems, audience chamber seating, dressing rooms, public restrooms, and concession areas of this landmark 2000-seat venue.
